This is a nice tank for transporting, not so much because of weight savings but the size is convent to pack into a car or haul down a trail. I gave it only 4 Stars because I feel it is a little pricey but it is a oddball thing. I would buy again. 4 STARS

Pros:LuxuryPortableReusableCons:Marketing deceptiveNo built-in level gaugeMixed:Size mattersThis thing is luxurious. The carrying case, obviously, is high quality, and makes the tank a pleasure to look and to move around. It also provides a great place for the hose to be stored when not in use (circled around the top of the tank. The tank itself is the cleanest tank I’ve ever seen, even when I’ve bought new tanks. There is a trim on the top and bottom that covers the edge of the tank. That is a spot on other tanks that have sometimes scratched my hands. This is so much more portable than my 15 pound tank. Full this unit weighs 24 pounds (26.6 pounds if you include the case and hose – which I always will). My 17 pound tank weighs 36.5 pounds when full. The portability is a combination of the (slightly) smaller weight but more importantly the width and the carrying case just makes the tank easier to carry.I took a picture of the unit next to my 17 pound tank as well as 10 disposable green coleman tanks. There you can really see the size difference. The 17 pound tanks and this tank are nearly the same height. But the tank is considerably skinnier.I tested this on :Mr. Heater Portable Buddy: Yes it works. You need to depress the dial a lot longer when starting the pilot compared to a green canister. This is because the hose needs time to fill. But once it gets going it works great.Propane torch. Worked flawlessly. The photo I took has the valve nearly closed so that you can see the flame. But rest assured you can get a hot torch going easily with this tank and hose.Coleman InstaStart Grill Stove: This tank did not work. I read reviews on my stove, the stove’s regulator nipple is too short for this type of hose adapter. I ordered a different brand regulator that reportedly will work just fine. This is a cautionary story. Not all devices will work out of the box. But 3 out of 4 of my devices worked just fine.Ignik Fire pit: I mean, obviously this worked beautifully. and they pair together so well. See update below (a different brand regulator works for this setup). The marketing lingo is a bit deceptive. Their comparison chart says that the 20 lb tank is not compatible with camp stoves. But the 10 pound tank is. Well, really the hose is what makes this compatible and you can buy a proper hose from other manufacturers. To be fair, Ignik took a few off the shelf products and packaged them together so well they have added considerable value. It does not have a built-in level gauge. A built-in gauge is a lot more accurate than an aftermarket gauge because the aftermarket gauges are based on pressure. A built-in gauge uses a float. A float inside the tank will always be accurate, whereas a pressure gauge tends to fluctuate. One of my photos shows how a built-in gauge works. For this I removed 1 star.Last but not least, Size matters. I bought the 10 pound tank, but I am already thinking I should have opted for the 5 pound tank instead. If you regularly travel with a 15 pound or higher tank already, then 10 pounds is probably right for you. But if you were travelling with a few 1 pound tanks then likely their 5 pound model would be a better fit. No stars removed due to size choice. I am HAPPILY buying thr 5 pound tank as well now.Update : I received a different brand regulator for my Coleman stove and it worked great. I added a photo of the regulator pin. Notice the Xβd out pin has some sort of filter and some gunk in it, that is the original regulator that does not work with this tanks. The green circled regulator works. Notice the clear hole in the pin. That regulator is the β LS’BABQ 5 Ft Propane Adapter Hose 1 lb to 20 lb Converter and Gas Regulator fit for Coleman Propane Gas Stovesβ. So now I have an extra hose. Seems likely that if your stoves regulator pin has a mesh filter like mine it might not work without a different regulator. I would not suggest buying a new regulator of the same model as your old one. The problem might not be age of the regulator.

This tank is like a tank! It is very heavy duty and has a commercial grade build. It is built better than your typical 20 pound tank that you buy at any big box mart. Coming from the steel industry, I can tell you what good metal looks like and great welding. This tank has both. The reason that it is expensive is not only because of its build quality, but also because you just don’t find 10 pound tanks out there anywhere. This tank is not to be stationary at the house with your family barbecue. This tank was meant to be taken places with you, and not to be such a burden when you’re carrying it as a 20 pound tank that weighs 40+ pounds. This is perfect for camping, the beach, emergencies, picnics, family outings, a small shed or workshop where you want to use a small heater for a few hours, and so on. The genius of this tank is how it takes the burden off of the person using/carrying it. The case is very aesthetic and you would never know that a 10 pound propane tank is inside of it. It’s just neat because you never see covers like this for a propane tank. When you are filling up the tank, ask the person filling the tank to purge the air out of it. When these tanks are shipped, oftentimes they are filled with air, as mine was. Please note, that all propane tanks need to periodically be purged. Those people who fill the tanks for a living should know how to do this. It was such a delight having it filled up up today, and then when it was done, as I picked it up it was only half the weight. This 10 pound tank also might be good for someone who is limited in strength and can not pick the big 20 pounder up once it’s filled. The only objection that I can honestly see regarding this tank and its case would be the price. Look at the price for the value you are getting and see this tank as more of an investment for the rest of your life because these tanks last forever if you take care of them. I highly recommend, great idea and great item!

This is one snappy dresser! If the fancy dual zippered two-way handled rugged cover isn’t stylish enough to impress you, the tank, with its glossy white finish with the dapper black top and bottom edge guards, surely will be enough to push your satisfaction up and over the top of your expectations… just as it did mine! I’m thoroughly pleased with this tank in both size and quality, and the only reason I still have two of the little green bottles is for the possibility I might need some back up one day. No more green camp stove bottles to deal with together with some serious cost savings! Win win. Two words… Get. One!

This is an amazing little tank, it lasts a lot longer than I had expected for the size. It really comes in handy on short trips. The carry case it comes with is very handy and feels well made. This has been a great compliment to my other gear. This is small and light enough even the wife can handle it.

Tank setup is a bite expensive up front. I got it to help cut down cost and weight from buying the small 1 lbs tanks and having to take a 20 lbs tank everywhere. Tank came clean and without any problems. The carring case is a nice touch in keeping the Tank clean and stackable when traveling.I had it filled with out any problems and used it to run a mr. Heater in a tent this weekend. Worked out great. Didnt cost much to fill it and still had about half a Tank. Normally I would have used about 5 1lbs tanks. Definitely made it easier to pack up. With the black Friday deals going on I order up 2 of their smaller tanks for spares. Definitely worth the money
