The thing you need to know before purchasing this is this is BIG. It’s bigger than my head. But at this size, hopefully you were expecting that. I personally got it for water not booze (because, fun fact, the average american is supposed to drink 100-200oz of water per day, so I figured two of these per day was a good goal).. my props to anyone who could drink this much beer.. I would probably die trying! The temperature keeps inside very well (I originally got a defective one which did not insulate but the seller sent me a new one at no cost and it works great). The string attaching the top slips off easily. I suggest gluing it in place so you do not lose the cap if you plan to go camping with this item. Overall, very nice. I love the subtlety of the logo and the sleekness of the black coating.

Mine has the new and improved lid (compliments the seller) after Amazon accidentally sent me one with the older lid that cannot handle carbonation. (Yes, I had an “explosion”!) That’s all water (or carbonated beverages) under the bridge now. Thought I’d do a review for how things are going with it now.For a long while I honestly didn’t use it much. It was so big and heavy and I got a smaller container for regular drinking water. However, over time conditions changed in my life. Nowadays I am living in a climate that is often hot, and simple ice water means a lot to me. I started using it some months ago for ice water (in combination with a thermos I have for most of the pouring — and I like having more than 64 oz. of water on hand that will stay cold, as I don’t always have access to quick ice, etc. What I discovered was that some days the Yukon Growler keeps the water much colder than other days (nights actually). My thermos is much better at keeping the water cold, but like most thermoses it doesn’t hold a heck of a lot of water. When I purchased my 64-oz. Yukon Growler, it did NOT come with the carrier (boo-hoo), and the carrier is also out of stock here on Amazon until “who knows when” during the covid scare. I realized that I really, really do want a carrier for TWO reasons:(1) The nylon cord for holding the bottle DOES work, even when the bottle is totally full. However, even though I do not have to carry it very far at all most of the time (30 yards maybe), I HAVE had it loose its grip and slip out and fall. The good news is that none of those times (just a few times) did it spill open or seem to become damaged in any way, But clearly, I’d prefer to have something to carry it in;(2) Because this bottle more than half the time does NOT keep the water as cold as I am hoping overnight, I decided to see if I could find a carrying case that will work. I believe I have found it in the Wild Wolf carrier, which appears to be pretty well made and has two pockets for carrying things in such as keys and whatnot, like one sees on the side of a backpack — and it has a shoulder strap as well as a hand-held handle. One the one hand it seems like too much of a luxury to be spending as much as I am on the carrier, but on the other hand I now realize what a great thing it is to have something to keep extra cold water for me and I know it will matter to me a lot more in the summer. I believe the case will also help insulate the Growler, helping to keep the water colder as well. All in all, I’m pretty happy with the Growler, but my guess is that people willing to fork out the extra money might get better thermal action with a more expensive and well-known model. (I don’t usually go with the carbonation — quite rarely — but I like having that as an option with the Yukon Growler.)Well, hopefully my review has helped someone. I think it was a very smart move on the part of the Yukon company to start selling it with its own carrier, though from what I have read it’s a very tight fit and doesn’t have the features I will be looking forward to with the new carrier I have ordered.

This is a well constructed growler, but it is only single wall construction… so don’t expect hot or cold items to stay that way for an extended period of time like a double walled vacuum growler would. Overall this is a good deal, and it does not leak. My only other comment is to be advised you can spend just a few dollars more and get the model that includes the coozy and shoulder strap. I wish that would have been made clear in the description, because buying the coozy strap add on separately is not cost effective. Can’t win them all I guess. I suspect you will get a lot better thermal temp hold with the coozy on it too. I would definitely but this a gift, and it is nice looking.

I bought this to bring my coffee to work in. I like iced coffee and this growler does the trick! This bad boy holds a full 12 cup pot of coffee with creamer!!! Trick is to brew it the night before and let it chill in the fridge so the next morning it’s cold and ready to go. The lid has an air tight seal and I’ve had no issues with leaking. The strap is a bit of a pain but you won’t lose the lid because of it.If you want to keep your coffee hot just pour straight from the pot. This keeps it hot all day! For my iced coffee, it’s cold all day. Great buy. Easy to clean and fits in my lunch box too.

I really didn’t think it would keep the drinks so cold but it really does. It’s keeps beer carbonated and super cold. It’s also Really perfect for like Rum and Cokes or Vodka and Sprites. It keeps the drinks carbonated and doesn’t leak. Just double check the lid is on super tight. Especially if your driving in a carIt’s also pretty easy to clean. You might want to get a long bottle brush to clean inside your hands won’t fit.

Growler is perfect for taking beer from the keg on the go. I bought this to fill up and take with us to the pool so we wouldn’t have to keep going back for refills. It holds a good amount and keep the beer ice cold for hours! It’s very comparable to the other brands that cost 2 to 3 times more!

i filled this with my fav sour ale from a local bar and it did keep it cool and surprisingly kept a good amount of carbonation 24 hours later.
